Campaign: Petition for a Liturgical Feast for the Season of Creation

Introduction

The Laudato Si’ Intercultural Association is launching a campaign to petition for the establishment of a new liturgical feast for the “Season of Creation” on September 1st. Inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, this feast would dedicate time for prayer, reflection, and action to care for our common home. As we approach the 2025 Season of Creation (September 1 to October 4), themed “Peace with Creation,” we invite the faithful in Luxembourg and beyond to join us in gathering signatures to submit to local Church authorities for forwarding to the Holy See.

This campaign aligns with our mission to promote intercultural dialogue, social-environmental awareness, and sustainable practices within international Catholic communities.

Purpose of the petition

This petition gathers signatures from the faithful to support instituting a liturgical feast for the “Season of Creation” on September 1st. The collected signatures will be submitted to local Church authorities in Luxembourg, with a request to forward them to contacts at the Holy See for consideration.
